How it works — 3 steps, under 3 minutes

1. Export from your bank

Log into your bank and download last month's transactions as a CSV file. Every major bank offers this under "Download" or "Export." Takes 30 seconds.

2. Import into PennyRa

Drag your CSV into PennyRa. Our parser reads 35+ bank formats automatically — no column mapping, no manual setup.

3. Ask your AI

See your spending breakdown instantly. Ask questions like "Where did my money go last month?" and get plain-English answers from AI.

Why no bank login matters

Your credentials stay yours

Apps that ask for your bank login use screen scraping or third-party services like Plaid. If that service has a breach, your bank access is exposed. PennyRa never touches your login.

Works with any bank worldwide

Plaid and similar services only support select US banks. PennyRa works with any bank that exports CSV — including international banks most apps ignore entirely.

No sync to break

Bank connections break. They need re-authentication, they go stale, they miss transactions. CSV import never breaks — your bank generates a fresh file every time.

Frequently asked questions

Is PennyRa really a budgeting app with no bank login?

Yes. PennyRa never asks for your bank username, password, or any OAuth connection. You export a CSV file directly from your bank's website — a file you already have access to — and upload it to PennyRa. Your bank credentials are never involved.

Which banks does PennyRa support?

PennyRa supports any bank that exports transactions as a CSV file, which includes virtually every bank worldwide. This covers Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi, Garanti BBVA, İş Bankası, Yapı Kredi, BBVA Mexico, HDFC, Barclays, ING, Revolut, Nubank, and 30+ more. If your bank has a "Download transactions" option, it works.

How is this different from Mint or YNAB?

Mint required bank login via Plaid and shut down in 2024. YNAB also uses bank sync (Direct Import) which requires linking your bank account. PennyRa uses only CSV import — no login, no sync, no third-party connection.

What if my bank doesn't export CSV?

Almost all banks support CSV export. Check under "Transactions," "Statements," "Download," or "Export" in your online banking. If you're unsure, contact your bank's support — they can guide you to the export option.

Is PennyRa free?

Yes. The free plan includes 100 transactions per month and 3 months of history — enough for most users to get started. Plus is $2.99/month for unlimited transactions and a full year of history. Pro is $4.99/month and adds advanced analytics, data export, and priority support.
