How bank CSV import works

Step 1 — Find your bank's export option

Log into your bank's website. Look for "Download transactions," "Export," or "Statement" under your account activity. Almost every bank offers CSV export. If you can't find it, search "[your bank name] download transactions CSV."

Step 2 — Download the CSV file

Select your date range (we recommend 1–3 months) and download. The file will be named something like "transactions_2026_04.csv" or similar. Save it to your desktop.

Step 3 — Import into PennyRa

Open PennyRa, go to Import, and drag your CSV file in. PennyRa automatically detects your bank format from 35+ supported formats and parses your transactions. No column mapping needed.

Step 4 — AI categorizes everything

Within seconds, AI assigns categories to every transaction — groceries, dining, subscriptions, transport, and more. You can adjust any category manually if needed.
